I
believe in the Resurrection. That is, I
believe that the crucified Jesus was buried and that when the women came to the
tomb two mornings later they found it empty.
It was empty because Jesus, who was dead, was alive again.
I
do not believe in a naturalistic explanation.
Those who say, “We as scientifically-minded people know that the dead don’t
come back to life” miss the point. No
ordinary, this-worldly explanation will do to describe the extraordinary action
of the God who is beyond time and space.
The
Resurrection is miracle in the truest sense, God intervening in history and incorporating
the unexpected into the cause-effect chain.
Some find such talk preposterous; I do not, because I believe in God.

I believe God has chosen to make himself known through Incarnation, to
reconcile the world ...
