1.

I used to....

Carry around a lot of guilt from things I've done in my past.

Drink too much.

Curse too much.

Fear death because I knew I would never be worthy to even wash His feet.

But because I am coming to know Jesus...

I am starting to forgive myself some.  I still don't know how He could love someone like me, but I'm sure glad He does!

Have curbed my drinking habit.

Do not cuss.

And although I still doubt my worth I feel like maybe just maybe I CAN one day wash the feet of my Savior.

2.

I used to...

Wonder what life meant, and if there was any meaning at all.

But because I know Jesus, I now...

See the beauty around me as a gift from God, and I find meaning in my relationship with God and service to God's kingdom.

3.

I used to...

Obey rules so that I would seem pleasing to God.

But because I know Jesus, now...

I seek to serve others because Jesus first served me.

4.

Before Jesus was in my life…

It was just life.  My daddy died when I was young and was “replaced” with a stepfather that didn’t know how to love, so I was searching for love in all the wrong places. My mom moved her loyalty (and her love in my mind) to my stepfather.  My heart was empty.  Many mistakes/bad choices were made because I felt unloved and I became extremely rebellious.

Then I found Jesus and …

Life is full of hope and opportunities to love the unloved or seemingly unlovable including me.  I found true love both in heaven and on earth (not always easy though).  Life is exciting and I look forward to “God Sightings” and serving Him each day.  I love to encourage people to seek Him. I enjoy learning more each day about my Savior.  I still have struggles, but they are easier to face knowing He is there to help me if I just call on His name.

5.

I used to… have a void-a gaping hole in my chest-that nothing could fill.

But because I know Jesus, now I… know that I am so loved and blessed. Jesus has saved my life and has given me so much hope-a joy like I have never known.

I used to...

think you had to earn your way to Heaven by being "nice" and "good"

think that Jesus didn't know about me specifically

think people were "Crazy" when they talked about being "saved"

think Christians were closed minded, boring, and judgmental

Now I...

know Jesus would have died that day if I were the only one alive

know God is aware of the number of hairs on my head

know that God sees each tear that falls...

know he has my name on his hand...

know that He loves me... OH how he Loves me...

know where I"ll go when I die- and where my husband and child will go as well...

want others to love Him as I do

am a Jesus Freak - Praise the Lord!

I used to search for self-worth, but now I am made worthy.

I used to search for self-justification, but now I am justified in Christ.

8. 

I used to question Jesus.

Now I trust him more.

9.

I used to... try so hard to get my father to love me. I worried about it, lost sleep over it. It consumed me. I wanted him to show me so badly that he loved me. Never getting anything in response.

Then I found Jesus and I realized that I can't make him. And that's not my fault and I did nothing to make him not be in my life. My true Father loves me unconditionally, and without fail. And He always will. And by Jesus' sacrifice, I will one day know Him even better!
